Last updated: May 2026. This policy describes how the Le Menu consumer app (web and mobile) collects and uses information. Separate terms may apply to restaurants and business users.
1. Information we collect
When you use Le Menu we may collect:
- Account info: name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, account/login identifier.
- Saved delivery addresses.
- Browsing area you select (department/commune).
- Optional precise device location — only when you tap "Use my current location".
- Cart contents, order details, and order history.
- Order status and tracking information.
- Reviews and ratings you submit.
- Support or order-lookup messages you send us.
- Device, browser, and session data (e.g. app version, OS, language).
- Analytics and crash diagnostics.
- QR digital menu scan and session data.
2. Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect or store credit card numbers in the consumer app.
- We do not process Apple in-app purchases or Google Play billing.
- We do not track your location in the background.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and secure your account and sign you in.
- Show relevant restaurants and dishes in your area.
- Submit your order request to the selected restaurant.
- Coordinate pickup or delivery and let you track the order.
- Provide customer support and respond to order lookups.
- Display reviews and ratings.
- Generate aggregate analytics for QR digital menus and the app.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Improve app performance and reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Order and payment information
When you place an order, we may store the order contents, total amount, order status, the payment-method label and status that the restaurant displays (for example, "Pay on delivery"), and your order history. Le Menu does not collect credit card numbers, process Apple in-app purchases, or process Google Play billing in the consumer app. Any payment is handled directly with the restaurant.
5. How we share information
- Restaurants receive the order details they need to prepare and fulfill your order.
- Delivery personnel may receive delivery details only for orders they are assigned to.
- Service providers help us with hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, maps, push notifications, and email.
- We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your personal information with restaurants for unrelated advertising.
6. Location
You can manually choose your browsing area at any time. Precise device location is used only when you tap "Use my current location", and only to show nearby restaurants. We do not track your location in the background.
7. Notifications
If push notifications are available, we use them only for order status, account, and service messages. You can disable them in your device settings.
8. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. Order records may be retained as needed for support, fraud prevention, legal, accounting, and operational reasons. Analytics and log data are kept for limited periods.
9. Your choices and rights
You can update your profile and saved addresses from the Account section. You can request account deletion from the in-app "Delete my account" option or from the public data deletion page. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate operational reasons.
10. Security
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections. We use industry-standard safeguards, but no system is 100% secure.
11. Children
Le Menu is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the laws of your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version.
